1. What is the Grail Message?
“Grail Message” is the sub-title of the work “In the Light of Truth”, a collection of lectures in three volumes, in which philosophical questions receive conclusive answers and the construction of Creation is conveyed in a clear and comprehensible form.
The author of the work is Abd‑ru‑shin (Oskar Ernst Bernhardt, 1875 – 1941). Irrespective of belief and religion the Grail Message directs itself to the individual and offers him a path to the recognition of God, the world and himself.
2. Who carries the responsibility for the publication of the Grail Message?
The charitable Stiftung Gralsbotschaft (Grail Message Foundation) in Stuttgart (D). It was established in 1950 on the initiative of Maria Bernhardt, the widow of Oskar Ernst Bernhardt (Abd‑ru‑shin), in order to assure the global spread of the Grail Message.
On 26 December 1988 Irmingard Bernhardt as the last owner of the copyright in the Grail Message „In the Light of Truth“ by Abd‑ru‑shin had personally decreed that even after the expiry of the copyright the Grail Message in all its editions has to remain under the care of the Stiftung Gralsbotschaft.
In doing so, she affirmed Abd‑ru‑shin’s requirement from 1931, according to which the publication and the distribution of the Grail Message must remain in one leading hand. This “leading hand” is the Stifung Gralsbotschaft.
These binding guidelines are being strictly observed within the international Grail Movement.
In 1990 the Stiftung Gralsbotschaft became, by way of a legacy by Irmingard Bernhardt, the rightholder with respect to all publications by Abd‑ru‑shin it is publishing and thus also with respect to the Grail Message “In the Light of Truth”.
3. What is the Holy Grail?
Its actual existence is confirmed and explained by Abd-ru-shin in the Grail Message.
In order to comprehend these explanations, one should familiarise oneself with the thought that it is not only on earth that everything has been formed, but also in the beyond, in higher than earthly regions, albeit there somewhat finer and lighter, one could also say more ethereal.
The Holy Grail is a Chalice, which is to be found in the highest plane of Creation at the border to the Divine and forms the only connection between God and the Creation. The Grail is the point of power-transfer for the Radiation-power emanating from the Divine. Just as the heart allows the blood to pulsate through the body, so streams the creative power once a year through the Holy Grail into Creation to strengthen it with new power. This is the day of the power-outpouring!
To illustrate it as a picture: The Holy Grail is the by God every year newly supplied “Power Centre of Creation”.
4. Which are the “Laws of Creation” mentioned in the Grail Message?
The Grail Message describes three basic Primordial Laws of Creation, which form the foundation of every happening and all movement. They are:
5. What is the meaning of life?
To grasp the meaning of life leads us by way of the knowledge of the laws that are active in Creation, because they are the expression of the Will of God.
Whoever counts watchfully on the effect of the Laws of Creation, will choose his decisions in such a way that in their further development only beneficial matters arise, which reciprocally also benefit himself.
In this sense we can develop into consciously responsible personalities who are aware of their duties towards the Creator and their fellow beings and who adapt their thinking, talking and acting accordingly. In as far as we honour the Creator, cause no damage to our neighbour or to nature and keep our thoughts pure, the good can bit by bit unfold everywhere.
If we are making a serious effort, the meaning of life will become ever clearer to us: it lies in consciously experiencing Creation and in obeying its always helpful lawfulness. And therein we also find the longed for joy of life.
For a deeper understanding we recommend reading the lecture “The Language of the Lord” from the Grail Message, Volume I, Nr.34.
6. What does the “Sealing” mean? Who are “Sealed Persons”? Who are “Crossbearers”?
With the recognition of the Truth in the Grail Message and confessing the Creator, at an express request the new covenant with God is carried out through the Sealing.
As an outward visible sign the person requesting the sealing receives the Grail Cross. This personal decision of the individual leads neither to a binding to the Grail Movement nor to any other sealed persons, who in the Grail Movement are also known as Crossbearers.
7. What is a Grail Circle?
The persons who have joined together in a Grail Circle are people whose basis for living is the book “In the Light of Truth” – Grail Message” by Abd‑ru‑shin.
Grail Circles exist in many places in numerous countries. They are maintained through voluntary commitment and donations. On Sundays and on special Festival days Hours of joint Worship are held.
8. What is the order of events during a so-called Hour of Worship?
Framed by music and flower decorations and in rooms that only serve this purpose, always a lecture from the Grail Message and afterwards a prayer is read.
9. Can anyone take part in an Hour of Worship, even if they are not readers of the Grail Message?
Yes, certainly. If you want to take part in an Hour of Worship in a Grail circle, you are very welcome. Please contact:

10. What are the aims of the Grail Movement?
The movement has its roots in the 1930ies and sees itself as a free union of like-minded people, a loose association therefore of human beings who want to live according to the sense of the work “In the Light of Truth – Grail Message” by Abd‑ru‑shin. This represents neither a religious community in the usual sense nor a sect, a club or anything similar. The Grail Message is a supra-denominational work, addressing itself to the truth-seeking individual, regardless of which religion he might belong to.
The Grail Movement is no legal organisation, but rather a collective term for idealistic endeavours to spread the knowledge of the Grail Message and to implement it in all areas of life.
11. Who carries responsibility within the Grail Movement?
The leaders of the Grail Circles, of the national Grail Movement and the leader of the international Grail Movement jointly promote and co-ordinate the activities in the sense of the Grail Message such as Hours of Worship and Grail Festivals as well as lectures, readings, discussion evenings, seminars, events for children and young people, art exhibitions, concerts.
12. Is there still a second international Grail Movement?
No, there is only one international Grail Movement which has its beginnings in the time of Abd‑ru‑shin’s working and which is committed to the contents of the Grail Message. After the Second World War it was initially led by Maria Bernhardt, the widow of Oskar Ernst Bernhardt (Abd‑ru‑shin).
The international Grail Movement should not be confused with the “association Internationale Gralsbewegung” (i.e. international Grail Movement), which was founded a few years ago by the present owner of the Grail Settlement on Vomperberg. It was being attempted with the help of this association to get the courts to prohibit the Leader of the international Grail Movement the use of the name “international Grail Movement”.
This plan failed at all levels of jurisdiction. The Austrian Supreme Court of Justice confirmed the previous judgments of the Landesgericht (i.e. District Court) in Innsbruck and the Oberlandesgericht (i.e. Higher Regional Court) in Innsbruck (certified translation of this court decision with footnotes from eurolawyer.at).
The international Grail Movement existing for more than 70 years already has no connection whatsoever with the afore-mentioned association, nor with the so-called “Grailwork”.
